OUTDOOR MOVEMENT CLASSES!
Outdoor Activations for Body, Mind, Ecology
Since we are now able to gather and offer classes outdoors, this is a great opportunity to return to some of the material that is not easily translatable to an online platform. Sooooo, for the next few weeks, I will be holding sessions to activate, ground, inspire and connect us all through movement, breath, awareness and music!
Each week will be planned around the weather, so in order to attend, you will need to sign up to one of my social media channels; Whānui Moves FB Page, or Instagram, where I will be posting details of the next session. If you are not on social media, you can message me at firstname.lastname@example.org to say you are interested in keeping up to date about the specific classes you are interested in attending (see below). I will be moving the classes around the city, so if you are in need of something really close to your house, let me know, and this may be a factor in deciding where to hold the next class!
What is on offer?!
For the moment, I will be teaching:
Muscle and Bone classes: M&B is a vigorous, rhythmic, dynamic movement and spatial training system; encouraging participants to move towards the limit of their flexibility, endurance and spatial expansion. These will be on the lighter side of hard, easing us out of our houses and into our movement potentials.
Hineahuone Embodied Anatomy (HEA): Exploring our anatomy as described through the pūrākau (story) of Hineahuone, the first woman, created from the sacred red clay of Papatūānuku. These sessions will be accompanied by Tāonga Puoro artist, Salvador Brown.
Contemporary Poi: These classes use long poi and are open to all levels. I do have some spare poi for those who need them. We will focus on mobility, co-ordination and rhythm.
You can check out more info about Muscle and Bone and HEA classes here.
Sessions are on a pay what you can afford basis between $10-$25 for M&B and Contemporary Poi classes, $15-$35 for HEA.
On This Week:
Zoom Class Recordings
If you haven't been able to attend classes I offer via Zoom, you can now get a copy by emailing me which class you'd like, and I will send you the video to do at any time that suits you. These may also be useful for revision of anything we've already covered, or if you'd like to go back and do a class that you really enjoyed. All the available classes are in the resources page, accessible in the menu at the top, or you can click through below.
